PAGASA Update: Bagyong Dindo (June 26)

Bagyong Dindo

Yesterday, PAGASA  updated that two low pressure areas (LPAs) spotted inside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) may merge and develop into a typhoon.

PAGASA announced today, June 26, the Active Low Pressure Area (ALPA) was last spotted 750 kilometers east northeast of Guiuan, Eastern Samar, and moving at a northwesterly direction.

PAGASA expect the ALPA to become a storm in the next 36 hours, and is forecast to target Luzon. It will be given the codename Dindo.

Pagasa weather forecaster Jeri Loiz said that one LPA was spotted 380 kilometers off Southern Luzon and another at 930 kilometers of Northern Mindanao.

Loiz said the weather disturbances would bring mostly cloudy skies with scattered rains in the Bicol region, Eastern Visayas and Eastern Mindanao in the next two days. He also warned fishermen and small vessels not to venture into the seas in these regions.

The rest of the country would experience mixed weather, from sunny to partly cloudy skies with possible light rains mostly in the afternoon or evening due to localized thunderstorms.
